MAX STOLZENBERG
It all started out with a couple of old magazines containing some romantic photos from the early seventies discovered by Max while he was collecting wastepaper, for a good cause, together with his boy scout friends.
He was totally fascinated by the enchanting radiance of these pictures and smuggled the magazines into his youth room. Max realized that this genre of photography was the ultimative way to express the feelings he wasn’t able to put into words. From then on it was only a matter of time before he got his first camera and the story took its curse.
Years later, on a rainy day in November, when sitting at the fireplace in his big house and drinking some good french whine, Max decided to change his lifestyle. He has had some exhausting years of work and felt terribly tired and stressed. Suddenly, possibly induced by the wine, some memories from the early days of his youth popped up in his mind. During this time he often went on holidays in South France and Spain together with his friends and parents. These days where filled with easiness and joy and he immediately realized what was doing the harm in his life.
As a romantic by heart Max disagreed in many ways with the modern way of life that lets our world spinn faster and faster.
He decided that even today it must be possible to live a slow moving life and it was his conviction that this way of living was even more rewarding.
As a result of that he threw away his cell phone, stopped watching TV, picked up his camera instead and went to the south for a photo shooting with a couple of beautiful girls.
A dream he had dreamed, ever since he found that old magazines, was about to become reality and his life changed to the good.
Today Max Stolzenberg spends a lot of his time at beautiful locations at the mediterranean cost of South France, together with his models. Although having travelled a lot around the globe he still favors this region over any other place in the world. Max loves the light prevailing there, sometimes changing up to seven times on a single day.
A light, so beautiful, that it made the painters of earlier centuries move to this region.
When it comes to photography he always picks his old fashioned analog camera as he prefers the look and feel of film over digital photography.
Max is one of the few non conformists of today. Political correctness in his eyes is obstructing true art.
By looking at Max Stolzenberg’s pictures you simply forget about the struggle and sorrows of modern life. It’s like being catapulted back in time to a place of childish bliss and everlasting beauty.
His first exhibition in 2012, to which he was persuaded by his friends and colleges, was a total success and sold out in two days.
Since then the popularity of his photos is growing day by day and his pictures are collected by art lovers all over the world.
